Second Lieutenant ERNEST BROOKE BOOTHBY of the 13th Battalion the Rifle Brigade died on 10 July 1916, aged 35.

He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Menin Gate at Ypres.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the memorial St Stephen’s church Lewisham High Street.

Details:
He was the son of Henry Vernon Boothby and Augusta Boothby of Blackheath. He married Mary S. H. Stokes in Kensington in the autumn of 1910. They lived at 11 Bryanston St.,London W1. His brother John Henry served with the Royal Horse Artillery and died on 23 July 1916.
