Lance corporal B/444 LOUIS EDGAR BONTER of 13th battalion Rifle Brigade died of wounds on 3 August 1918.
He is buried and remembered in Bagneux British Cemetery, Gezaincourt.

He is remembered on the war memorial in the church of St Mary the Virgin, Lewisham.
Details:
He was born in Lewisham, the son of Reginald William and Alice Bonter of 58 Braxfield Road, Brockley. He was baptised at St Mary’s church on 6 December 1891. The family later moved to Brixton. His brother Douglas died of wounds on 29 September 1917.
