Captain FRANK LYDFORD BODY of the 8th Battalion the Bedfordshire Regiment died in a Casualty Clearing Station in Bethune on 18 June 1917 of wounds received while supervising a working party three nights earlier. He was 25. According to the report of his death in The Times of 21 June 1917 he joined the Inns of Court OTC on the outbreak of war and was commissioned into the Bedfordshire Regiment early in 1915.

He is buried in Bethune Town cemetery.

He is remembered on the memorial at St Bartholomew’s church, Sydenham.

He was the son of Charles Ash Body, J.P., and Mrs. Body, of "The Cedars," 34, Sydenham Hill.
