From the Canadian Expeditionary Force Burial Register:
Killed in Action
This soldier was one of a patrol that was sent out in front of our Infantry to reconnoitre to the South of Willerval. The patrol ran up against a trench strongly held by the enemy and Private Blundell was killed by enemy fire.

He is buried and commemorated in the Fifteen Ravine British Cemetery, Villers-Plouich [Screen Wall. D. 3184]

He is remembered on the memorial at Christ Church, Lee and the Lewisham Council Staff War Memorial.

Born Sept Q 1880 East Grinstead RD (Worth, Sussex). Son of William and Amelia Blundell, of Crawley, Sussex; husband of Ellen Sarah Blundell [nee Newman married Mar Q 1904 West Ham RD], of 272, Lakeshore Road, Pointe Claire, Quebec, Canada. Child Reginald H [born Jun Q 1913 Lewisham RD]
