War Service:
Lance Corporal 12621 HAROLD EDGAR BLISS of the 7th (Service) Battalion, Norfolk Regiment was killed (missing, presumed dead) on 13 October 1915.
On Wednesday 13 October the battalion took part in its first major engagement since arriving in France in May 1915. Casualties amounted to 5 officers killed or died of wounds and 6 wounded, and 66 other ranks killed, 196 wounded and 160 missing.

He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Loos Memorial.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered in St Olave’s Roll of Honour and in the Book of Remembrance in the church of St Saviour, Forest Hill.

Details:
He was born on 5 March 1894 and attended St Olave’s Grammar School from 1905 to 1910.
