Flight Sergeant (Navigator) GEORGE THOMAS BISHOP of 158 Squadron Royal Air Force was killed on 18 July 1944, aged 22. At 0334 on 18 July Halifax NP-X took off from RAF Lissett in Yorkshire to bomb German positions around Caen. It crashed into the sea off Bridlington.

Location of Memorial:
He is buried in Hither Green cemetery where his name is recorded on the screen wall listing those whose graves have no headstone.

Details:
He was the son of George and Edith Bishop of Downham.
