Second Lieutenant ERNEST JOHN WILSON BEYNON of 4th battalion York and Lancaster Regiment was killed in action on 9 October 1917. He had previously served as private 9694 in the Inns of Court OTC.

He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the war memorial in the church of St Mary the Virgin, Lewisham.

Details:
He was 19 years old, the only son of William and Mary Beynon, of 14, Hawstead Rd., Catford.
