Second Lieutenant CHARLES FRANK BERRY Royal Air Force was killed in action on 17 July 1918 while serving with No 10 Squadron. He was 19. At this time the squadron was engaged in artillery spotting duty. In the next grave is 2nd Lieutenant N Forbes also of 10 Squadron who died on the same day. It is probable that they were the pilot and observer in the same aircraft.

They are buried in Esquelbecq Military Cemetery in Belgium.

Charles Berry is remembered on the memorial at Brockley School.

Details:
He was the son of Robert and Ada Berry, of 75, Nelgarde Road, Catford. A report of his death appeared in The Times of 27 July 1918.
