Private1531 GEORGE ALAN BENWELL of 1/20th (Blackheath and Woolwich) battalion London Regiment died on 3 October 1915, aged 19.

He is buried and remembered in Bethune Town Cemetery.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the war memorial at St Peter’s Church, Brockley and on the 20th London Regiment Roll of Honour.

Details:
He was the son of Charles Marchant Benwell and Georgina Benwell, of 15, Honley Rd., Catford.
