War Service:
Lance corporal 106036 DAVID J BENBOW of the Inland Waterways and Docks company of the Royal Engineers died in Lewisham Hospital on 2 October 1917, aged 25. He first went to France on 31 July 1915.

He is buried in the City of London and Tower Hamlets cemetery.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the Lewisham Military Hospital memorial outside University Hospital Lewisham.

He was the husband of Miriam Benbow, of Dixon St., Limehouse.
