Private 6140 HAROLD STANLEY BAX of 7th battalion East Surrey Regiment was killed in action on 8 July 1916, aged 21.

He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial to the Missing of the Somme.

Location of Memorial:
He is also remembered on the memorial which stood in Monson Road in New Cross.

He was the son of Thomas and Sarah Alice Bax, of 55, Hatcham Park Rd., New Cross.
