Private 50036 ALBERT JOHN BARNES of 1st Battalion Royal Irish Fusiliers died on 1 October 1918, aged 18. He previously served with 20th (Blackheath & Woolwich) Battalion the London Regiment.

He is buried in Dadizeele New British Cemetery, 10 miles from Ypres.

He is alos remembered on the memorial at St Bartholomew’s church, Sydenham.

He was born in Blackheath, the son of Samuel and Annie Barnes, of 21, Halifax Street, Sydenham
