Bannister, Edward Martin


War Service:
During the Boer War Edward Martin Bannister is believed to have started with French's Scouts as a Trooper, Corporal and pay Sergeant 37755 then was a Guide with the Field Intelligence Department. For his time with French's Scouts he was issued the following medals: the South African Medal and 3 clasps, the Cape Colony, Orange Free State and the Transvaal. He was also awarded the SA 1901 and 1902 during his time with the Feild Intelligence.

His service is remembered on the New Cross, Haberdashers' Aske’s Boys' School South African War Memorial
