Sec. Lieut in the 3rd Bn attd 9th Bn East Surrey Regiment. He died 16 Aug 1916 aged 23 at the Battle of the Somme. Previously wounded June, 1916.
Location of Memorial:
He is commemorated on the Holy Trinity Sydenham War Memorial & Thiepval Memorial [Pier and Face 6 B and 6 C], with other soldiers who died at the same battle and have no known grave.

Born Dec Q 1893 Camberwell RD. Son of John Josiah and Eliza Ball, of Dulwich, London. Educated at Dulwich College.
