Baldwin, Norman Edward

Dates: Autumn 1883 to 16 August 1961

War Service:

Second Lieutenant Norman Edward BALDWIN of 5th battalion London Regiment (London Rifle Brigade) was reported wounded and missing on 8 October 1916. He had previously served as Private 9701 in 5th Londons and the London Gazette reported that he had been commissioned from the rank of Lance Sergeant in the battalion on 16 August 1916.

His body was recovered and buried in Caterpillar Valley cemetery, Longueval.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the war memorial outside the church of St Hilda in Brockley.

Details:
He was born in Bromley in the autumn of 1893.
