Rifleman ERNEST EDGAR BAILEY, 4925, 1st/6th Bn., London Regiment (City of London Rifles), who died age 20
on 22 October 1916

He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Menin Gate memorial to the missing soldiers of Ypres Panel 54.

Location of Memorial:
He is also remembered on the Sydenham Wesley Hall Memorial and on the South Metropolitan Gasworks World War 1 memorial in Greenwich.

Details:
Son of William and Mary Ann Bailey, of "Antrim," The Glen, Minster, Sheppey, Sheerness. He was born in Battersea. His brother Frederick John also died at the battle of Ypres and was also missing. Both brothers lived in Forest Hill.
