Corporal 12629 Bertram W BAILEY of the Army Pay Corps died in Lewisham Hospital on 2 August 1918, aged 24. He had previously served as Gunner 67496 in the Royal Garrison Artillery.

Location of Memorial:

He is remembered on the Lewisham Military Hospital memorial outside University Hospital Lewisham and on the Longton Memorial cenotaph.

Details:

He was the son of John and Elize Bailey and husband of Alice Maud Bailey, of 81, Hamilton Rd., Normacot, Longton, Stoke-on-Trent. He is buried in the churchyard of the Church of the Holy Evangelists at Normacot.
