Attwool, Dennis Edgar Barton

Aircraftman 2nd Class DENNIS EDGAR BARTON ATTWOOL, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died in a flying accident on 24 July 1942 while serving with 31 Squadron. At this time the squadron was based in Lahore flying Douglas Dakota transport aircraft dropping supplies to the 14th Army.

He is buried in Madras War Cemetery, India.

Location of Memorial:
His name is remembered on the war memorial at St Dunstan’s College and in the pages of the History of The Old Dunstonian Rugby Football Club.

Details:
He was 22, the only son of Albert Edgar and Ellen Florence Attwool, of Forest Hill.
