Atkins, Charles Robert William

War Service: Charles Robert William Atkins served as a Private in the 72nd Company Machine Gun Corps. His service number was 25937. He died on 7th July 1918 after an operation on his wounds and he is buried in Brockley Cemetery.

Location of Memorial: Private Atkins is buried in Brockley Cemetery where his name is recorded on the screen wall listing those whose graves have no headstone.

Details:
Charles Robert Williams Atkins was born c1888. He was the son of was William Atkins and Mrs. Jemima Atkins, of Greenwich and the husband of Charlotte Mary Atkins, of 49 Frankham High Street, Deptford, London.

He married Charlotte Mary Brigden on 26 December 1909 at St. Nicholas, Deptford. They had four children Charlotte, Ann, Rose and Charles.

In 1911 he was living at 4 Blackhorse Road, Deptford with his wife Charlotte and daughter Charlotte Elizabeth Mary. He was employed as a hawker.
