Sapper 26240 WILLIAM ROBERT ASHFIELD of 59 Field Company, Royal Engineers died of wounds on 28 March 1918, aged 27.

He is buried in Doullens Communal Cemetery Extension.

Location of Memorial:
He is also remembered on the memorial at the church of St James, Hatcham.

Details:
He was born in Neasden and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. T. Ashfield, of 13, Brindley Street, New Cross, and husband of Dorothy Ashfield, of 75, Finland Road, Brockley. They married in the summer of 1915.
