Private 190064 WILLIAM HERBERT ARKCOLL of the Machine Gun Corps died of pneumonia in Cannock Chase Hospital on 25 November 1918, aged 32.

He is buried in Leigh on Sea cemetery, Southend.

Location of Memorial:
His name is remembered on the war memorials at St Dunstan’s College and St George's Church Catford, in the pages of the History of The Old Dunstonian Rugby Football Club and on the Inland Revenue Service war memorial in Somerset House.

Details:
He was the son of Anne and Herbert Arkcoll and husband of Mabel Arkcoll, of 93, Oakleigh Park Drive, Leigh-on-Sea. He attended St Dunstan’s College in Catford from 1899-1904. His brother Frederick Thomas was killed in action on 30 June 1916.
