Second Lieutenant COLIN F ALDERTON of 12th battalion the Manchester Regiment was killed in action on 7 July 1916, aged 27. He joined the Honourable Artillery Company at the outbreak of war and served in Flanders until September 1915 when he returned to take a commission.
He is buried in Gordon Dump Cemetery, Ovillers-la-Boisselle.

He is remembered on the war memorials at St Dunstan’s College and the church of St John, Greenhill, Harrow.
Details:
He was the son of the late Frederick Alderton and Mrs Alderton of Sheepcote Road, Harrow-on-the-Hill. He was educated at St Dunstan’s College, Catford Selwyn College, Cambridge.
