Fireman Percy Charles AITCHINSON, National Fire Service Beckenham AFS. Died aged 27 on the night of the 20th/21st April 1941 together with 19 other members of his watch when the Old Palace LCC School, Brunswick Road, Poplar suffered a direct hit from a landmine.

He is buried with the other 19 dead from Beckenham AFS at Elmers End Cemetery

He is remembered on the Firemen's memorial at Old Palace School, Poplar and in the Brockley County School WW2 Book of Remembrance

Details:
He was the son of Robert Imrie and Eugine Louise Sarah Aitchinson of 20 Copse Avenue, West Wickham, Kent.
