Merchant Navy Memorial
The Tower Hill Memorial which commemorates the men of the Merchant Navy and Fishing Fleets who have no known grave but the sea stands in Trinity Square Garden on Tower Hill. The First World War memorial takes the form of a vaulted corridor and bears the names of 11,919 names arranged alphabetically under the name of their ships. A sunken garden was added after the Second World War commemorating the loss of a further 24,000 men.
