The memorial was unveiled by Mr. H. Filmer, Postmaster of the South Eastern District, on Wednesday 30 June and was dedicated by the Rev. R. Noel Mellish, V.C., M.C., and Vicar of St. Mark’s Lewisham. Mr. J.C. Marsh overseer of the Lewisham sub-office presided.
