Other details and outline history: The original Lutheran Church, known as ‘The German Church’, was destroyed during WW2 and was rebuilt in 1958. The church was renamed in honour of Dietrich Bonhoeffer its former Pastor who was executed by the Nazis during the Second World War and a chapel was dedicated to his name. While living in London he lived at 2, Manor Mount, Forest Hill where there is a plaque in his memory.

Other details: The original Lutheran church was known as the “German Church”. It was destroyed in 1944 and a new church was built and consecrated in 1959.
