History: The original Lutheran Church, known as ‘The German Church’, destroyed during WW2 was rebuilt in 1958 and consecrated in 1959. The church was renamed in honour of Dietrich Bonhoeffer its former Pastor who was executed by the Nazis during the Second World War and a chapel was dedicated to his name. While living in London he lived at 2, Manor Mount, Forest Hill where there is a plaque in his memory.
